The MWES PTA offers all parents and caregivers the opportunity to be engaged in their child’s potential. From volunteering at school events to participating in local, state and national advocacy efforts to holding PTA leadership roles – the level of involvement is up to you. There is no wrong way to PTA!
Below are some of the volunteer opportunities. If you do not see a volunteer opportunity that will work for you or if you have ideas for other opportunities, please feel free to email us at email@example.com.
All PTA work is currently being done virtually.
Staff Appreciation Committee Chair: help plan MWES Staff Appreciation activities throughout the year including Teacher Appreciation Week.
Memberhub Forum Administrator (new for 2020): The PTA is launching a new database this year that will allow us to connect our families through forums. The administrator will help set-up and monitor the forums. Memberhub makes set-up very easy so no advanced technical knowledge is necessary!
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair (new for 2020): MWES is a wonderfully diverse school and we want to make sure the PTA reflects that diversity. Using the National PTA Diversity and Inclusion toolkit, the chair will develop a committee to look at ways at ensuring the PTA is inclusive of all communities at MWES.
Reflection Program Chair (new for 2020): The Reflections program is an art competition that encourages students to explore the arts and express themselves. Students in Pre-K through Grade 12, and a special artist division, create theme-based artwork in dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography or visual arts. This committee will begin work this winter to prepare the program to launch next school year.
Special Event volunteers: We have lots of great ideas for virtual events from bingo and trivia nights to scavenger hunts but we can’t do it without volunteers! If you have a few hours to spare, we need help brainstorming and setting up virtual events.
Communication volunteer: Keeping our members informed is an important part of the PTA. We need a volunteer to help us coordinate incoming information from within our community and our extended PTA network and then coordinate the design and dissemination of that information through different channels.
For any of the above opportunities, if you are interested in volunteering on the committee but are unable to act as chair, please still contact us.
