Running Club Coach
Love to run or excited about getting kids involved in an active lifestyle? Then consider volunteering with Running with the Stars (RWTS), an organization celebrating its 10th year!
RWTS provides suggested warm-ups, games, and running workouts and are very responsive to questions and needs. Practices are held for an hour after school twice a week for 11 weeks, from mid-March to late May and the season culmniates with a 5K race completely organzied by RWTS.
As Coach, you help select the days for practice and your kids particpate at no cost to you. The same offer is avalable to an Assistant Coach, so this is an ideal position for two people. A typical practice consists of gathering the kids on the front field, walking a few laps for warm-up, stretching, doing the walk/run practice, and ending with running games. Along the way, you find ways to talk about nutrition, exercise, goal-setting, good sportsmanship, and more. The former coach is available to help get you up to speed on activities and other suggestions. If you are interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
School Supplies Chair
Beginning in February, volunteers coordinate this annual fundraiser with a school supply vendor by submitting supply lists by grade, then approving the contents of the kit. Promotion of school supply sales are in May and June and volunteers submit the final order, arrange for delivery to the school, and distribute supply kits during MWES Open House in late August.
If you're interested, please contact email@example.com.
